FAQ

Visiting hours

Due to Sierra Vista’s busy schedule of program activities, we recommend that visits occur between 3 pm – 5 pm during the week, and between 10 am – 12 pm and 3 pm – 5 pm on weekends. You are welcome, however, to visit at times that are most convenient for you. If you want to come outside our recommended visiting hours and no one at the front desk is available to let you in, please ring the doorbell to ensure access or call ahead of time to ensure someone is available to let you in.

Do you have an activities program?

We create recreational and social programs to match the capabilities and interests of our residents. These can include musical performances, current events discussions, arts and crafts, talent shows, fitness activities, non-denominational religious services, outside performers, games, trivia, and community outings for activities such as movies, bowling, or the county fair.

A monthly calendar is posted to keep residents informed of upcoming events such as birthday parties, movies, musical programs, outings, candlelight dinners, ice cream socials, and other special events. We always welcome friends and family to visit and attend our special events.

Can we bring a family pet to visit?

We love our furry friends and we welcome visits from family pets! Sierra Vista has designated areas where visits with pets can occur. Please contact our Program Director in advance of the visit so we can make arrangements. You will be asked to keep your pet on a leash at all times and within your control.

Can children visit?

Yes, we encourage children to visit! Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the visit will occur in a designated area of the residential unit. Please contact our Program Director in advance of the visit so we can make arrangements. We request that anyone displaying cold/flu symptoms refrain from visiting us until symptoms subside. Please discuss concerns with the charge nurse.

How can I send mail to a resident?

Mail is delivered to residents the same day it is received and in conjunction with the delivery schedules of USPS, FedEx, and Amazon.

Is smoking permitted in the facility?

Sierra Vista allows its residents, staff, and visitors to smoke in designated outdoor areas.

What is an Ombudsman?

An Ombudsman is an advocate for residents. They are a third-party person NOT employed by the facility who comes by the facility periodically to monitor the activities of the facility. They are not able to tell the facility what to do but are a voice for a resident with a concern.
